David joined DeLio, Peterson, Curcio and Pegnataro in 2014 as an Associate and was named Partner in 2023. Prior to joining the firm, David worked for Yale University School of Medicine conducting biomechanics research.

Since joining the firm, David has earned distinction in the field successfully prosecuting patents across many industries. He is consistently energized and inspired by the innovation and entrepreneurship of both established and new clients. He is proud to be a fourth generation New Haven business owner as the great grandson of Anthony Pegnataro, Sr. who came to the city from Italy in the early 1900’s and built a small corner store that grew to become Pegnataro’s Superfood Stores with seven locations in the New Haven area.

David is admitted to the Connecticut State Bar, New York State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, the New Haven County Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the Connecticut Intellectual Property Law Association.

David graduated with a dual degree (B.S.) in electrical and biomedical engineering from Tufts University in 2004. He earned his Juris Doctor cum laude from Quinnipiac University in 2009. In his spare time David enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, golfing and rooting for the New York Giants and Mets.
